4G STEM Camp introduces girls entering sixth, seventh, and eighth grade to careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). The camp includes 5 days of hands-on activities, lab experiments, and field trips to area businesses offering STEM-related careers. The 2018 camp meets at Bradley University and includes tours in Peoria to JUMP Simulation, Advanced Medical Transport, Caterpillar, and CSE Software plus a day in Havana to Therkildsen Field Station at Emiquon, University of Illinois-Springfield and The Nature Conservancy in Illinois. To receive notification when the 2019 4G STEM Camp registration opens, you can join the E-blast Mailing List and select the 4-H Youth Development subject matter area.

Whittier Primary School is one of 25 schools statewide that have been awarded participation in the state’s three-year Bicentennial STEM Fusion Program. The program overseen by the Illinois Math and Science Academy is a teacher development initiative for math and science. It focuses on teachers and students in grades four through eight to stimulate careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
