Teacher Tuesdays – Libraries in STEAM

Libraries are a vital place for informal science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) education for pre-K- 12th-grade students and their families. This session of Teacher Tuesday will highlight STEAM programming from several libraries. Come learn how libraries are reaching out to youth and families in formal and informal education settings. This session is great for other library staff, as well as for teachers and afterschool programmers looking to partner with libraries.
Special Addition – Youth Component
This month’s Teacher Tuesdays includes an invitation for participants to bring their children, ages 6 and older, to participate in their own STEM-related activities.
Teacher Tuesdays is a networking event designed to foster peer-to-peer support for learning. Building a learning community around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM)Education for our region.
Teacher Tuesday programming partners include University of Illinois Extension Fulton-Mason-Peoria-Tazewell Unit, River City Labs, Greater Peoria EDC, Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum, Peoria Riverfront Museum, Bradley University, Area School Districts, Caterpillar Inc. | Innovation & Technology Development Division, and ICE-HOI Illinois Computing Educators – Heart of Illinois.
